Tito Bautista was born in Mexico in the town of Jocotepec on Lake Chapala, (near Guadalajara) but has lived much of his life in California.

In 1992, the now 46-year-old won the gold medal at the Barcelona Paralympics as part of the U.S. basketball team.

In the Parapan American Games Guadalajara 2011 Bautista will be competing in the wheelchair tennis event. However, this time he is swapping the U.S. shirt for the green one of Mexico.

It looks like a fantastic place to shoot my crossbow, the grounds are really wheelchair accessible. The clubhouse has thresholds, but my portable ramp made access easy. The indoor shooting range has a few steps going down but again my larger portable ramp should take care of those..

Wimbledon has great towels

I've always been jealous of the towels Wimbledon players get.

Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful for all the paraphernalia I collected over the years when I played wheelchair tennis. There were free FILA jackets, Nike shirts, tournament shirts, and tennis wrist bands in neon colors. I also received about a hundred water bottles and t shirts. Once in a while, I received a hand towel.

But we never got those huge towels the Wimbledon players get. It's not just the size of the towel, but the purple and green colors for the men, pink and blue for the ladies, the royal plush look. Why not? It's Wimbledon.

The Queen of England showed up this week for the first time in 33 years to watch a match. I bet she got a towel. I bet the ball kids get a towel.

But do they appreciate it?

Watching the players carelessly toss around those Wimbledon towels as if they're not worth anything, sometimes even leaving one on a bench, just isn't easy.

So if anyone who reads this is at Wimbledon and someone happens to leave a towel behind, could you do me a favor and get one for me?

Can't hurt to ask.

In other Wimbledon news, there was a historic match this week, the longest tennis match ever played. And a tennis player escaped a lifetime ban after losing it and spitting at fans.

The University of Missouri will host their wheelchair basketball camp July 11-15, 2010. The camp is for males and females ages 12-19 with a permanent disability of the lower extremity. The camp focuses on individual fundamental skill development and strategies in team play. Players participate in skill developing drills, controlled scrimmages and games that emphasize the skills and concepts taught by the staff. Endeavor Games Coming to Edmond Oklahoma

Over 475 athletes of all ages with disabilities are also coming to the Endeavor Games in Edmond Oklahoma on June 10-13, 2o1o, with over 70 new athletes competing. Admission is free.

The event provides tourism opportunities for the city, which helps provide other 350 volunteers.

Events will include powerlifting, table tennis, wheelchair basketball, swimming, sitting volleyball, shooting, cycling, wheelchair track and field, indoor/outdoor archery and ambulatory track and field.

Oscar Pistorius has two victories on the first day of the 2010 BT Paralympic World Cup. The event is held through May 31.

In conjunction with the International Paralympic Committee and ParalympicsGB, four sports - Athletics, Swimming, Track Cycling and Wheelchair Basketball have been staged each year in Manchester since the Paralympic World Cup’s inception in 2005.

Wheelchair Basketball will take place from 27-30 May, with the BBC, the official televised partner to the event, broadcasting live from the Manchester Aquatics Centre on Monday 31 May on BBC Television.
