2010 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships

University of Missouri Wheelchair Basketball Camp for ages 12-19

The University of Missouri will host their wheelchair basketball camp July 11-15, 2010. The camp is for males and females ages 12-19 with a permanent disability of the lower extremity. The camp focuses on individual fundamental skill development and strategies in team play. Players participate in skill developing drills, controlled scrimmages and games that emphasize the skills and concepts taught by the staff. University of Alabama women's wheelchair basketball team wins national title; 2010 USA Men and Women's National Wheelchair Basketball teams selected
The University of Alabama women's wheelchair basketball team dominated their match against Illinois on Saturday to win 66-36.
A stand out performance by Janet McLachlin, who had 30 points, 13 rebounds and finished 15 of 20 earned praise from the coach, Brent Hardin. For a more complete analysis of the game, click here.
The University of Alabama is one of 12 universities in the U.S. that sponsors wheelchair athletics and is in its seventh season.
In other women's basketball news, Head Coach Dave Kiley picked his 12 members for the 2010 USA Women's National Wheelchair Basketball team. They are:

Wheelchair basketball tournament results
The Illini men's wheelchair basketball team won the men's national championship this weekend.
The Illini were down by eight at halftime, but with the leadership of the tournament MVP, Steve Serio, the Illini came back to score 42 points in the second half.
U of Alabama women's Wheelchair basketball team won a women's tournament.
Alabama beat the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 76-31, in the first game and beat Illinois, 67-46, in the second game.
They will play Sunday in the national tournament.
